Just Married
At the time this movie came out, Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy were dating. Shortly after its release, they broke up. Guess that just goes to show, you should never make a romantic movie about breaking up with someone you’re dating.
PLOT:
Tom Leezak (Kutcher) and Sarah McNerney (Murphy) fall in love and plan to get married, despite opposition from Sarah’s uptight, rich family. When they do get married, and get a chance to prove Sarah’s family wrong, they go on a European honeymoon and run into disaster after disaster. They have to decide whether the honeymoon from hell and a few pre-marital mistakes are worth throwing away their love and marriage. They then decide that they are too deeply in love with each other and reunite.
REVIEW:
For what it’s worth, this movie isn’t that bad. As far as romantic comedies go, this delivers more on the comedic side, which I prefer. The plot is a little cliched and nothing surprising happens, but with these types of movies, what do you expect?
Kutcher brings back memories of his 70s show days with this role. Brittany Murphy is long removed from her role in Clueless (as well as noticeably lighter). I would have liked to have seen more of the family, but that’s just a personal preference.
I liked this move, but didn’t love it. For me, its one of those that you watch when there’s nothing else on. Which is exactly why I watched it tonight.
